Les Rockomotives
October 2017

The Vendôme Rockomotives’s motto is simple: to marry the specific to the mainstream, the party to the intellectual fun and foolishness to cosiness. The
Rockomotives are human-sized and have always been proud of this epithet. In 25 years, they have gone through indie pop, electro, rock, hip-hop, contemporary music and everything else that defies categorisation. The festival takes place indoors over a week – not because the Loir et Cher region lacks fields but because of the often cold weather during the Autumn break. In compensation, iconic venues share the line-up: a chapel, a theater and a mythological location: the Minotaur, that has seen as many stories as plugged in jacks over these years.

Les Vieilles Charrues
jul. 13th - jul. 16th 2017

In 1992, a handful of friends provided the foundation of what would later become one of the biggest festivals in Europe: a humble village fair in Brittany where music only constituted a small part of the event. However, its name (literally ‘the old ploughs’) was already full of hints and a little provocative by referring to farming when the famous old ships of Brest were grasping everyone’s attention. 25 years of hard labour later, more than 250,000 visitors come to the festival to feel the music each summer. Thousands of volunteers, a team of employees all year long and during the days of the festival, multiple projects… Mission accomplished: it is an incredible revenge on fate and on the desertification that was threatening the centre of Brittany.
